The Federation of Lakes of Val-des-Monts published in 2016 the study Val-des-Monts Integrated Watershed Management Project (PGLVDM) (available in French only), its most ambitious project for the protection and improvement of lake water quality.
Lakes inventories were developed regarding the water quality (physico-chemistry and transparency), riverbank characterization, identification and location of invasive aquatic grass beds, identification of fauna and flora (including threatened species), indices of beaver presence, characterization of tributaries and outfalls (watercourses) and characterization of major culverts linked to a body of water.
